Later at Rosny the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, will give an address and officially turn the first sod on construction of the new aged care facility at Fairway Rise Village on behalf of Southern Cross Care (Tas) Inc. 

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Underwood will host a reception to mark the 175th anniversary of the dedication of St George's Anglican Church, Battery Point.

In the evening at the Stanley Burbury Theatre, University of Tasmania, the Governor will chair the seventh Richard Selby Smith Oration on behalf of the Australian College of Educators.

In the evening at the Federation Concert Hall the Governor will attend and Mrs Underwood will perform with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Chorus' production of Mozart's Coronation Mass.

Later at Government House the Governor received the Deputy President and Clerk of the Legislative Council who presented Bills for the Royal Assent. 

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Underwood hosted a reception to launch Opus House - a group of elite young musicians, whose aim is to reinvigorate live instrumental music performance in Tasmania, by taking music to the people in various accessible performance spaces around Hobart.

In the morning at the Hobart Cenotaph the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, attended the Anzac Day Dawn Service. 

Later at the Hobart Town Hall the Governor and Mrs Underwood attended the Lord Mayor's Anzac Day Morning Tea, following which the Governor took the Salute for the Anzac Day Parade. The Governor and Mrs Underwood then attended the Anzac Day Service at the Hobart Cenotaph where the Governor placed a wreath and delivered the Anzac Day Address.

Later at St David's Cathedral the Governor attended the War Widows' Guild Dedication Service for the Annual Field of Remembrance and placed a cross in the grounds. 

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs Underwood received Mr Tim Wonnacott and Mrs Helen Wonnacott, after which the visitors viewed the Government House furnishings.

Later at the Domain Athletics Centre the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Underwood, gave an address and fired the starter's gun to officially start the 2013 Kennerley 48 Hour Charity Relay Run. 

In the evening at Bellerive Mrs Frances Underwood gave an address and officially launched the new name and logo for Vivace – Young Voices Together.

The Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, and Mrs Underwood hosted a Master Class at Government House for young opera singers from all over Australia, presented by The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden under the direction of David Gowland, Artistic Director of the Young Artists Program to which the public were invited to attend.

Later the Governor received the President and Clerk of the Legislative Council who presented Bills for the Royal Assent. 

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Underwood hosted a reception for delegates attending the Corrective Services Administrators' Council Meeting.

Later the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, received the Australian Ambassador designate to Denmark, Norway and Iceland, Mr Damien Miller. 

In the afternoon the Governor received Mr Steve Knight, Chairman of The Australian Wooden Boat Festival Inc and Mr Paul Cullen, General Manager. 

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Underwood hosted a reception featuring a performance by Mr Michael Kieran Harvey to mark the inaugural Hobart Baroque Festival.

In the morning at Government House the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, presided at the swearing-in of the Honourable Justice Alan Blow as Chief Justice of Tasmania and Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania and Mr Stephen Estcourt as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Tasmania. 

Afterwards the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. 

Later at the Supreme Court the Governor attended the ceremonial sitting for the Honourable Chief Justice Alan Blow, immediately followed by the ceremonial sitting for the Honourable Justice Stephen Estcourt.

On Sunday 7th April 2013 the Honourable Ewan Crawford reached the statutory retirement age for Judges of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and retired from the Offices of Chief Justice and Lieutenant-Governor. 

In the evening the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, and Mrs Underwood returned to Tasmania and the Governor resumed the administration of the Government of the State.

The Lieutenant-Governor, the Honourable Ewan Crawford, assumed the administration of the Government of the State. 

In the evening at Anglesea Barracks the Lieutenant-Governor, accompanied by Mrs Crawford, attended a reception and delivered the keynote address to mark the 92nd Anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force.

A message from the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood AC, to all Tasmanians.

In the morning at the studios of ABC Radio the Governor of Tasmania, His Excellency the Honourable Peter Underwood AC, discussed the bushfire crisis with ABC Presenter Sarah Gillman. He then attended a formal briefing on the crisis at the headquarters of the Tasmanian Fire Service in Hobart. Later he visited the Sorell Community Fire Refuge Centre.

In the morning at Hobart Airport the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Underwood, and Mrs Underwood welcomed Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

In the afternoon Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall arrived at Government House.

Later Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall departed Government House to visit Salamanca Place.

Later at the Federation Concert Hall, the Governor and Mrs Underwood will attend a performance of "Teddy Sings Brahms and Mahler". 

Later at Prince's Wharf No 1 the Governor and Mrs Underwood attended the Premier's reception for Their Royal Highnesses.

Later at Hobart Airport the Governor and Mrs Underwood farewelled Their Royal Highnesses.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Underwood received the Premier, the Honourable Lara Giddings who announced that Her Majesty the Queen had approved an extension of His Excellency's term in the Office of Governor for another 3 years to expire on 2nd Apri 2016.

Today His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Underwood opened Government House and its gardens to the public between 11am and 4 pm.  Everyone was welcome.  Many brought a picnic lunch or bought refreshments from the Rotary Club to eat in the gardens and enjoyed the music.

This was a celebration to mark the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.

What a great day it was too.  The weather turned out to be kind to us and around of 5,000 people visited Government House to join in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Many thanks go to all the people who helped make the day a success; the bands and singers, Rotary, Red Cross, St John and many others as well as the staff and honorary Aides at Goverment House all of whom pitched in.

Later the Governor later appointed and swore to office the following Ministers: The Honourable Nick McKim as Minister for Education and Skills and Minister for Sustainable Transport; The Honourable David O’Byrne as Minister for Police and Emergency Management; The Honourable Michelle O’Byrne as Minister for Children and Minister for Sport and Recreation; Mr Scott Bacon as Minister for Tourism, Minister for Hospitality and Minister for Veterans' Affairs and as a member of the Executive Council; The Honourable Cassy O’Connor as Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Minister for Climate Change; and The Honourable Brian Wightman as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.

The Governor then presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
