George Huizing has been the Honorary Netherlands Consul in the State of Tasmania for the past 18 years. He has decided to retire and Peter Sykpes has been appointed to replace him. The Dutch Ambassador to Australia came to Tasmania to attend a ceremony this evening to thank Mr Huizing for his years of dedicated service and to officially appoint Mr Sypkes to the honourary office. The Governor and Mrs Underwood held a small luncheon to mark this event.
