In the afternoon at The Forest, University of Tasmania, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers attended an award ceremony hosted by the Ambassador of Finland, His Excellency Mr Arto Haapea, in honour of the Honorary Consul for Finland in Tasmania, Mr Bob Gordon.
In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a luncheon with representatives of Vice-Regal patronages operating within the health sector in Tasmania.
The Governor is honoured to serve as Patron of more than 130 Tasmanian organisations which undertake important work in our community.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted an afternoon tea for members of the Zonta Club of Hobart Inc to mark the 2026 United Nations International Day for Women and Girls in Science.

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly attends celebrations and hosts events at Government House marking significant occasions for our diverse Tasmanian community.
In the morning at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and later at the Roy Fagan Centre, Lenah Valley, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers met with Inscape Tasmania artists delivering art and music programs within the Tasmanian Health Service.
In the evening at the Hobart Regatta Grounds, the Governor and Professor Chalmers attended a reception hosted by the Royal Hobart Regatta Association and viewed the evening fireworks to mark the 188th Royal Hobart Regatta.

Later at MyState Bank Arena, Glenorchy, the Governor and Professor Chalmers attended the NBL game between the Tasmania JackJumpers and the Brisbane Bullets.
