Governor’s Program

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a ceremony for the Florence Nightingale Grants and Awards Committee to present scholarships for 2026.

In the evening at MyState Bank Arena, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the WNBL game between the Tasmania Jewels and the Geelong Venom.

In the afternoon at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, delivered an address to officially open the 23^rd International Conference for Emergency Nurses, hosted by the College of Emergency Nursing Australia.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Dr Walters hosted a reception to mark the opening of the Antarctic Season 2026—2027.

In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters received the High Commissioner for India, His Excellency Mr Nagesh Singh, the Consul-General of India in Melbourne, Mr Anish Rajan, and the Honorary Consul for India in Tasmania, Dr Navpreet Kaur.

In the afternoon, the Governor presided at a Special Meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening, the Governor and Dr Walters hosted a reception for the Australian-American Fulbright Commission and the University of Tasmania to mark the 80^th anniversary of the global Fulbright Program.

In the morning at the Hobart Cenotaph, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, led the wreath laying ceremony and delivered an address at a commemorative service hosted by RSL Tasmania to mark the 25^th anniversary of Australian service in Afghanistan.

In the morning at MAC02, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters visited and undertook a tour of the 2026 Island Quilts exhibition hosted by the Tasmanian Quilting Guild Inc.

Later at Government House, the Governor received the President and Clerk of the Legislative Council who presented Bills for the Royal Assent.

In the evening at Bellerive, the Governor, accompanied by Dr Walters, delivered an address at a dinner to mark the centenary of the Bellerive Yacht Club.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters received Pauline Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Reconciliation Tasmania.

In the afternoon on board ML Egeria, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, reviewed the fleet and took the salute at the sail past to mark the official opening of the Sailing Season 2026—27, hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.

In the evening at the Athenaeum Club, Hobart, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the 7^th Annual Hobart City Mission Black Tie Charity Dinner.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a formal dinner on the occasion of the official visit to Tasmania by the Ambassador of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Antonio A. Morales.
