Governor’s Program

In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a morning tea for the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation.

In the afternoon in Devonport, the Governor and Dr Walters met with staff and viewed the operations of Youth, Family and Community Connections Inc.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a reception for Tasmanian Leaders Inc to acknowledge the participants completing the 2026 I-LEAD Young Professionals program.

In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters received the Honorary Consul for Timor-Leste in Tasmania, Dr Nitin Verma.

Later, the Governor and Dr Walters received Ms Bernadette Black, Chief Executive Officer and Founding Director of SEED Futures.

In the evening at MyState Bank Arena, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the NBL game between the Tasmania JackJumpers and South East Melbourne Phoenix.

In the afternoon at Corpus Christi Church, Bellerive, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, presented life membership certificates at a concert performance to mark the 15^th anniversary of the Cantiamo Ladies Choir.

In the evening at the Theatre Royal, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters attended a performance of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, presented by Bell Shakespeare.

In the afternoon at The Old Woolstore, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, presented an award at the 2026 Tasmanian Volunteering Awards hosted by Volunteering Tasmania Inc.

In the evening at the Athenaeum Club, the Governor and Dr Walters attended a dinner hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force No. 29 (City of Hobart) Squadron and the Australian Antarctic Division to mark the 10^th anniversary of Operation Southern Discovery.

In the morning, the Ambassador of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Antonio A. Morales, departed Government House.

In the evening, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a reception for the Royal Australian Air Force No. 29 (City of Hobart) Squadron to mark the 10^th anniversary of Operation Southern Discovery.

Later at Mt Nelson Theatre, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the opening night performance of the 2026 Hobart Gang Show presented by Scouts Tasmania and Girl Guides Tasmania.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters hosted a formal dinner on the occasion of the official visit to Tasmania by the Ambassador of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Antonio A. Morales.

In the morning at Port Arthur, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters met with staff of the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority and undertook a tour of the operations of the Port Arthur Historic Site.

In the evening, the Ambassador of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Antonio A. Morales, arrived at Government House to stay.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, received Ms Kathrine Morgan-Wicks, Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Later, the Governor and Dr Rob Walters hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 50^th anniversary of Thrive Group Tasmania Inc.

In the evening at Bellerive Oval, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the 2026/27 Season Launch hosted by Cricket Tasmania.

In the morning at the Hobart Cenotaph, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, led the wreath laying ceremony to mark the National Commemoration of the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

In the morning at the Pontville Memorial Hall, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, delivered an address to open the 2026 State Conference of the Country Women’s Association in Tasmania Inc.

In the afternoon at St David’s Cathedral, the Governor, accompanied by Dr Walters, read a Lesson at the ecumenical service to mark the National Commemoration of the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

In the evening at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre, New Town, the Governor, accompanied by Dr Walters, presented certificates and an award at the 2026 Southern Hockey League Award Presentations hosted by Hockey Tasmania Inc.

In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, received the President and Clerk of the Legislative Council who presented Bills for the Royal Assent.

In the evening at Henry Jones IXL Atrium, the Governor and Dr Rob Walters attended the 2026/27 NBL Season Launch and Jersey Presentation hosted by the Tasmania JackJumpers and the Tasmania Jewels.

In the afternoon at West Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters attended the b kinder summit hosted by the b kinder foundation with students at Lansdowne Crescent Primary School.

In the morning at North Hobart Oval, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters attended the 2026 VFL Semi Final match between the Tasmania Devils and Essendon hosted by the Tasmania Football Club.

In the evening at The Tasman, the Governor and Dr Walters attended the 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting Awards Dinner hosted by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Tasmania.

Today at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, hosted investitures for recipients of honours and awards which were announced in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List and the 2026 Midwinter’s Day Honours List.

In the evening at Wrest Point, Sandy Bay, the Governor, accompanied by Dr Rob Walters, delivered an address to officially open the 2026 Annual Art Show of the Rotary Club of Hobart.

In the afternoon at the Clarence City Council Chambers, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Caroline Wells, and Dr Rob Walters commenced an official visit to the City of Clarence which included visits to Rosny Farm; Risdon Vale Neighbourhood Centre; Military Brotherhood Military Motorcycle Club; and 7 Mile Golf Course, prior to attending a civic reception hosted by the Mayor of Clarence at Killara Distillery, Richmond.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Dr Walters received the Honourable Jo Palmer, Minister for Education; Minister for Children and Youth; Minister for Disability Services; and Minister for Women and the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence.

In the evening, the Governor and Dr Walters hosted a reception for the Royal Australian Air Force to mark the 25^th anniversary of No. 29 (City of Hobart) Squadron.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Dr Rob Walters received Ms Domonee van Heerden, Tasmanian President, and Mr Benjamin Price, Executive Director (Tasmania), of the Housing Industry Association Limited.

In the evening, the Governor and Dr Walters hosted a formal dinner in honour of the official visit to Tasmania by the Ambassador of Switzerland.
