On 20 November 2025 Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, was pleased to undertake an official visit to King Island. She travelled around the island to visit local sites and meet residents of all ages.

Vice-Regal Visit to Circular Head
On Friday 24 October 2025 Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, was pleased to make an official visit to Circular Head where she visited several local attractions and facilities and met many members of the community.
Tasmanian Rhodes Scholar for 2026
Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, was today delighted to announce Heath Dimsey as Tasmania’s Rhodes Scholar for 2026 at a special afternoon tea at Government House.
The Rhodes Scholarship supports outstanding all-round students to study at the University of Oxford and aims to nurture public-spirited leaders for the future.
Tree Dedication Ceremony
Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, today hosted a ceremony at Government House to dedicate a tree to former Premier of Tasmania, the Honourable Peter Gutwein.
Since 1985, it has been a tradition to plant commemorative trees at Government House to honour Premiers of Tasmania.
