Lunch on the Lawns - Friday 20 February 2026

Government House

With a couple of weeks of summer officially remaining, we hope you can join us at Government House for another summertime Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 20 February.

Grab a rug, pack a picnic and spend a Friday afternoon relaxing in the gardens, while also enjoying some beautiful music from the Royal Australian Navy Band Tasmania.

This initiative is part of the Governor’s important community engagement role, making Government House and its gardens more accessible to the public.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drink, however in keeping with the family nature of the event alcohol is not permitted. Some seating will be available, but visitors are encouraged to bring rugs and camping chairs.

Unfortunately, pets are unable to attend, however service animals are welcome.

Parking is not available on site, however there is plenty of parking available in the nearby Domain area. Government House staff will also be on hand to facilitate access for those with mobility issues.
