In the morning at Swansea Fire Station, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers attended a morning tea hosted by the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) to meet with TFS and Tasmania State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers who supported the fire incident and ongoing fire management efforts at Dolphin Sands in December 2025.
Later at Bellerive Oval, the Governor and Professor Chalmers attended the Women’s Ashes Second One Day International cricket match between Australia and India.

Today at Mowbray Racecourse, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, accompanied by Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, attended and presented a trophy at the 2026 Launceston Cup Day hosted by the Tasmanian Turf Club Inc.

In the evening at South Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, accompanied by Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, delivered an address at the 2026 Commencement Dinner to mark the start of the academic year hosted by Jane College.
In the afternoon at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Chalmers, delivered an address as guest speaker at a meeting of the Royal Society of Tasmania, Northern Branch.
In the morning at the Campbell Town Cenotaph, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers attended the commemorative service to mark the 2026 National Day for War Animals hosted by the Military Brotherhood Military Motorcycle Club.
In the evening at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre, the Governor and Professor Chalmers attended the 2026 International Hockey Federation (FIH) Pro League matches between Australia and Spain.

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly welcomes delegates to Government House who are visiting Tasmania for national conferences and events.
Her Excellency serves as Patron of the Country Women's Association in Tasmania (Inc) and on Monday 16 February was delighted to join with members to celebrate the organisation's 90th birthday with a luncheon at Government House.
