Lunch on the Lawns - Friday 30 January 2026

Government House

Summer has well and truly arrived at Government House, so we hope you can join us for Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 30 January from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Pack a picnic and spend a Friday afternoon enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the gardens, which are looking their best during the summer season.

This initiative is part of the Governor’s important community engagement role, making Government House and its gardens more accessible to the public.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drink, however in keeping with the family nature of the event alcohol is not permitted. Some seating will be available, but visitors are encouraged to bring rugs and camping chairs.

Unfortunately, pets are unable to attend, however service animals are welcome.

Parking is not available on site, however there is plenty of parking available in the nearby Domain area. Government House staff will also be on hand to facilitate access for those with mobility issues.

If you are unable to make it to this event, we hope you can join us for our next Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 20 February.
