A Message from Her Excellency the Governor

Today we reflect on the devastating events that took place in Port Arthur thirty years ago.

On behalf of all Tasmanians, our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the tragedy including those who lost their lives and those whose lives were forever changed. We think of all their families and loved ones, as well as the first responders and the communities of the Tasman Peninsula.

As we remember them, may we also be comforted by the way Tasmanians joined together in the aftermath of this terrible day, and in the years since, to care for and support each other.
