2025 Hadley's Art Prize

In the evening at Hadley's Orient Hotel, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers attended the 2025 Award Presentation and Exhibition Opening for the Hadley's Art Prize.

One of the Governor’s priorities in her community engagement role is supporting the arts in Tasmania.

In this spirit, she was pleased to attend the opening of the 2025 Hadley's Art Prize in Hobart.

The Governor enjoyed meeting Prize finalists and viewing their works which celebrate the Australian landscape.

She also congratulated the winner, Sophie Cape, who was awarded the $100,000 acquisitive Prize for her work ‘Thunder Shifts the Shivering Sands’.

The Hadley’s Art Prize exhibition is on show at Hadley’s Orient Hotel until 21 September.
