In the afternoon, the Governor formally received the Speaker of the House of Assembly, together with a deputation of Members of the House of Assembly.
Later at Parliament House, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Chalmers, presided at the Ceremonial Opening of the 51st Parliament of Tasmania.
