Bellerive Historical Society Inc

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 35th anniversary of the Bellerive Historical Society Inc.

In her community engagement role, the Governor welcomes groups from across our State to Government House to celebrate significant milestones and important occasions.

Her Excellency was pleased to host an afternoon tea to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Bellerive Historical Society.

Speaking to guests, the Governor congratulated the Society on building a community of people committed to caring for local heritage.

She commended members on their work to preserve Bellerive’s history through creating publications, conducting oral histories, cataloguing historic documents and images and hosting events and activities.

The Governor also presented two founding members, Jill Robertson and Maggie Mars, with gifts on behalf of the Society to thank them for their contribution.
