Claremont Flower Show Group

In the evening at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, hosted a reception for the Claremont Flower Show Group to mark the 40th anniversary of the Claremont Spring Flower Show.

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly welcomes community groups to Government House who are celebrating significant milestones and important occasions.

Her Excellency was pleased to host a reception to mark the 40th anniversary of the Claremont Spring Flower Show, which took place over the previous weekend.

The Governor described the Show as a celebration not only of flowers, but also of community spirit, and congratulated organisers, exhibitors and supporters past and present on the Show’s ruby anniversary milestone.

With spring in the air, she was also delighted to be presented with a bouquet of vibrant Claremont-raised daffodils by Claremont Flower Show Group Secretary Janelle Noble.
