In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, hosted a luncheon with Australia’s Ambassador for Gender Equality, the Honourable Michelle O’Byrne, together with an invited guest list of Tasmanian women leaders.
In her community engagement role, the Governor is committed to raising awareness of women’s issues and advancing gender equality, to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive.
In this spirit, she was pleased to host a luncheon at Government House for Tasmanian women leaders.
In attendance were the Honourable Michelle O’Byrne, Australian Ambassador for Gender Equality, and leaders from across the business, community, health, legal, arts, sport and government sectors.
The event was an opportunity for the Governor to hear from Tasmanian women leading the way across all fields of endeavour, and to discuss ways to strengthen gender equality locally, nationally and internationally.
