In the morning at Legana, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers met with staff and undertook a tour of the operations of fermentHQ.
In her community engagement role, the Governor supports Tasmanian business and enjoys meeting with producers from around the State to hear about their innovative operations.
Today in the north of the State, she visited FermenTasmania’s fermentHQ incubator at Legana.
The facility supports Tasmanian makers of fermented food and beverages to develop their products and businesses, providing production facilities, research labs and an education hub.
The Governor and Professor Chalmers toured fermentHQ with chair Kim Seagram and met producers creating unique products such as shrub soda made with apple cider vinegar and dairy-free cashew-based cheeses.
