Florence Nightingale Grants and Awards 2025

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a presentation ceremony for the Florence Nightingale Grants and Awards Committee.

The Governor is pleased to serve as Patron of the Florence Nightingale Grants and Awards, which aim to advance nursing and midwifery practice in Tasmania.

Her Excellency was pleased to host a ceremony at Government House to present the prestigious grants to three Tasmanian nurses to assist them in undertaking post-graduate studies.

The 2025 Leonie Sidebottom Study Grant was awarded to Sam Turnbull, while the 2025 Returned Sisters Memorial Grants were awarded to Hebah Kaljeh and Ian Henderson.

The Governor congratulated all recipients on their commitment to nursing and commended them for furthering their contributions to the profession.
