Glenorchy City Council Visit

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly visits municipalities around the State to meet members of the community and find out about local projects.

In the afternoon she visited Glenorchy to learn more about community and youth engagement initiatives in the city and projects being undertaken by the Glenorchy City Council.

The Governor met with Mayor Sue Hickey, aldermen and Council staff, before visiting the team at the Glenorchy Jobs Hub.

She then talked with youth service providers and saw activities in progress – even taking the chance to shoot some hoops.

To finish up the visit, the Governor heard about a proposed Youth Hub planned for the Salvation Army building, which would provide a base for improved youth services in the city.
