Japanese Teachers' Network Tasmania (JATNET)

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a ceremony for the Japanese Teachers’ Network Tasmania to present awards for the 2025 Tasmanian Japanese Speech Competition.

Her Excellency was delighted to present awards to winners of the Japanese Teachers’ Network Tasmania speech competition, recognising students from Grades 3 to 12 for their outstanding pronunciation, memorisation, fluency and presentation.

Speaking to guests, the Governor highlighted the importance of learning languages to bring the gift of communication across borders and cultures.

She congratulated the students on their dedication and commitment and acknowledged their teachers and parents for their support.
