Riding for the Disabled Association of Tasmania Inc

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted an afternoon tea to mark the 50th anniversary of the Riding for the Disabled Association of Tasmania Inc.

The Governor enjoys celebrating significant milestones with her Patronage organisations, and so today she was delighted to welcome the Riding for the Disabled Association of Tasmania to Government House.

Volunteers, participants and life members joined the Governor and Professor Chalmers for afternoon tea to mark the Association’s 50th anniversary.

The Governor commended the Association on its work providing equestrian activities to Tasmanians of all ages living with disability or additional support needs.

She thanked everyone who has contributed to the Association throughout its history, particularly the dedicated volunteers who donate their time to care for horses, maintain facilities and support participants.

Guests enjoyed meeting Oskar and Nala, as well as Professor Chalmers’ guided tour of the State Rooms.
