In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, received Mr James Groom, Deputy Chancellor, and Professor Rufus Black, Vice-Chancellor, of the University of Tasmania.

In the evening, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a ceremony for the Royal Society of Tasmania to present the 2024 Peter Smith Medal, 2024 Louisa Anne Meredith Medals, and annual Doctoral Awards.
