Tasmanian Canoe Club

In the afternoon at Don Heads, the Governor, accompanied by Professor Chalmers, delivered an address at a ceremony to officially open a new watercraft launch platform hosted by the Tasmanian Canoe Club.

While in North West Tasmania, the Governor enjoyed the sunshine in Devonport at a new facility making it easier for locals to get involved in canoeing, kayaking and other aquatic activities.

On Saturday afternoon she was pleased to officially open the Tasmanian Canoe Club’s new Paddle Launch Facility at Don Heads.

The new launch platform has a unique design which has been built to withstand the tidal environment and will allow people to more easily access the water to go for a paddle.

The Governor congratulated all involved in the project, which will help more people of all ages and abilities to discover the joy of being on the water.
