The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in Australia (Tasmania Division)

The Governor serves as Patron of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Australia in Tasmania, a program that helps equip young people with essential life skills and fosters their creativity and innovation.

This evening at Government House, Official Secretary Colonel David Hughes was pleased to present certificates to this year’s Gold Award recipients on behalf of the Governor.

Young people completing their Gold Award learn new skills, improve their physical wellbeing, volunteer in the in community, go on adventurous journeys and broaden their experience through residential projects.

The Official Secretary presented recipients with their certificates and congratulated them on their spirit of determination and service.

He also presented three leaders from the Duke of Edinburgh community with long service medals celebrating their commitment and dedication.
