Volunteering Tasmania Inc

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted an afternoon tea for Volunteering Tasmania Inc to acknowledge the winners of the 2025 Tasmanian Volunteering Awards.

After attending the 2025 Tasmanian Volunteering Awards last month, the Governor was pleased to welcome Award winners to Government House for a celebratory afternoon tea.

The Awards celebrate members of the community who selflessly give their time to improve the lives of their fellow Tasmanians, with Award winners representing a range of organisations and community sectors.

As Patron of Volunteering Tasmania, the Governor acknowledged the enormous contribution volunteers make to all aspects of Tasmanian life, with the cost to replace their labour estimated at $3.6 billion a year.

She thanked Award winners, and all volunteers, for everything they do to make a difference in our community.
