Young Leaders of Tasmania Ltd (YLOT)

Later at Government House, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a presentation ceremony for Young Leaders of Tasmania (YLOT).

Education and youth engagement is a priority for the Governor, and this afternoon Her Excellency was delighted to host the graduation ceremony for Southern Tasmanian students who took part in the Young Leaders of Tasmania - YLOT All Abilities School Buddies program during 2025.

Students from Bellerive Primary School, Howrah Primary School, Clarence High School and The Friends' School have attended fortnightly visits at the Southern Support School during the year, making friends and developing their own skills in the process. The program has also run in North West Tasmania and is launching in Launceston this week.

The Governor commended YLOT on fostering inclusion through the program and congratulated the graduating students on helping to promote understanding and change peoples’ perceptions of disability.
