Access to Government House August-October 2025

Visitors to Government House may notice some changes to access from mid August until the end of October due to roadworks related to the Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project.

The southern end of Lower Domain Road will be closed between Carriage Drive and Government House as TasWater installs a section of sewer pipeline as part of this upgrade.

The northern end of the road, between the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the Domain Highway, has now been reopened.

Visitors will be able to access Government House from the Tasman Highway via Carriage Drive, and also via Lower Domain Road from the Domain Highway.

While works will be running outside the Government House main gate, access to this entrance will still be available to guests attending events or tours. See maps below for details.

See the TasWater website for further details about the project, including updates on road closures.
