Scouts Tasmania and Girl Guides Tasmania

In the evening at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, hosted a ceremony for Scouts Tasmania and Girl Guides Tasmania to present King’s Scout and Queen’s Guide Awards.

In her roles as Tasmania’s Chief Scout and Patron of Girl Guides Tasmania, the Governor was pleased to welcome both organisations to Government House for a ceremony to present prestigious awards to both Scouts and Guides.

In addition to recognising recipients of King’s Scout and Queen’s Guide Awards, the Governor also presented Olave Baden-Powell Awards to members of Girl Guides Tasmania’s Olave Program, for those aged 18-30.

The Governor congratulated all recipients and commended them on their hard work and dedication to meet the requirements for their awards.

She also thanked the Scout and Guide leaders for helping the young recipients on their personal journeys, as well as family and friends for their support.
