Lunch on the Lawns - Friday 14 November 2025

Government House

Spring is here and the Government House gardens are in full bloom, so we hope you can join us for the next Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 14 November from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Pack a picnic and spend a Friday afternoon enjoying the beauty of the gardens, while enjoying music from the Royal Australian Navy Band.

This initiative is part of the Governor’s important community engagement role, making Government House and its gardens more accessible to the public.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drink, however in keeping with the family nature of the event alcohol is not permitted. Some seating will be available, but visitors are encouraged to bring rugs and camping chairs.

Unfortunately, pets are unable to attend, however service animals are welcome.

Parking is not available on site, however there is plenty of parking available in the nearby Domain area. Government House staff will also be on hand to facilitate access for those with mobility issues.

If you are unable to make it to this event, there will be more chances to enjoy Lunch on the Lawns on Friday 19 December 2025, and on Friday 30 January and Friday 20 February 2026.
