Today marked the end of Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC’s term as Governor of Tasmania.
The Governor and Professor Chalmers thanked everyone in the Tasmanian community and beyond for their kind comments and well wishes as they said goodbye to Government House today.
Staff gathered this morning to farewell the Governor, Professor Chalmers, Oskar and Nala, and two pipers from the Derwent Scottish Pipe Band played as they embarked on new adventures beyond Government House.
The Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Christopher Shanahan, is now administering the State until the Governor Designate, Caroline Wells, is sworn in on Wednesday.
