Alannah & Madeline Foundation | National eSmart Week

In the morning at Lindisfarne Primary School, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers met with students and staff and viewed the eSmart program hosted by the Alannah & Madeline Foundation to mark National eSmart Week.

As State Patron of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, the Governor was today pleased to join the organisation for the launch of National eSmart Week at Lindisfarne Primary School.

An initiative of the Foundation, eSmart provides free age-appropriate digital and media literacy tools for schools, educators and families which are designed to help children safely navigate the online world.

The Governor and Professor Chalmers joined Prep students as they participated in an online safety lesson, discussing how to identify trusted adults who can help if something goes wrong.

At the end of the session, the Governor presented the class with a certificate, congratulating them on building their digital skills through the eSmart program.
