Ambassador of Denmark to Australia

The Governor welcomed Her Excellency Mrs Ingrid Dahl-Madsen, Ambassador of Denmark to Australia, to stay on Tuesday.

Her Excellency was in the State on an official visit, meeting Tasmanian officials and visiting local businesses.

In the evening the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a formal dinner in Her Excellency’s honour in the Government House dining room.

Tasmania and Denmark of course share a special connection, as the State is the birthplace of Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark. Visitors to Government House may have seen the trees planted by Queen Mary and her husband, King Frederik, when they visited Government House in 2005.
