Today at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, hosted investitures for recipients of honours and awards which were announced in the 2026 Australia Day Honours List.
Investiture Ceremonies continued at Government House today, as the Governor invested Tasmanian recipients of Australian Honours and Awards with their insignia.
This morning’s ceremony recognised Tasmanians receiving awards in the Order of Australia for their service to the community across a variety of fields, including medicine, philanthropy, the environment, primary industry and museums and galleries.
Recipients were also honoured for their service to people with disability and to social welfare policy development and law reform, and to the Parliament of Tasmania and the real estate industry.
The Governor also presented Public Service Medals (PSM) to those recognised for their outstanding public service in fields including bushfire protection, mental health care and cyber security.

In the afternoon, eight Tasmanians received Medals of the Order of Australia for their service across a variety of fields, including medicine, dentistry, industrial relations and music education.
Recipients were also acknowledged for their service to communities across the State through a range of roles and organisations.
