Later, the Governor and Professor Chalmers received the Consul-General of India, Dr Sushil Kumar, together with the Honorary Consul for India in Tasmania, Dr Navpreet Kaur.

In her ceremonial role, the Governor regularly receives courtesy calls from diplomatic representatives who are visiting Tasmania.

These calls help to promote Tasmania and foster goodwill and friendly relationships with other nations.

This morning, the Governor and Professor Chalmers were pleased to welcome the Consul-General of India in Melbourne, Dr Sushil Kumar, to Government House.

He was accompanied by the Honorary Consul for India in Tasmania, Dr Navpreet Kaur, and generously gifted the Governor with a book about India as well as a beautiful artwork.
