Morning

In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, and Mr Warner hosted a game of backyard cricket to mark National Backyard Cricket Day on behalf of Batting for Change.

Later at St David’s Cathedral, the Governor and Mr Warner attended an ecumenical service to mark the opening of the 2021 Legal Year.

Afternoon

In the afternoon at the Supreme Court, the Governor presided at the swearing-in of the Honourable Shane Marshall and the Honourable David Porter as Acting Judges of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

Later, the Governor and Mr Warner attended a reception for students undertaking the Legal Practice Training Course.

Evening

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mr Warner hosted a reception to acknowledge the winners and sponsors of the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Awards on behalf of Volunteering Tasmania.
