Government House Family Day

Today, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers welcomed members of the public to enjoy Family Day at Government House.

The Governor was delighted to meet with everyone who came along to spend part of their Royal Hobart Regatta long weekend in the Government House gardens.

Visitors braved the sometimes unfriendly weather to enjoy the sporting activities and entertainment, while also having a great view of all the Regatta activity in the air and on the River Derwent.

The Governor would like to warmly thank all her Patronage organisations and other groups who took part in the Family Day fun, including Girl Guides Tasmania, Scouts Tasmania, Cricket Tasmania, the Tasmania JackJumpers, the Country Women's Association in Tasmania (Inc), Croquet Tasmania, the Tasmania Football Club, Tennis Tasmania, Tasmania Police, the Tasmania Police Pipe Band, the Rotary Club of Howrah and Triple M Hobart.
