Hobart City Mission | Kingborough Helping Hands

Later at Government House, the Governor received representatives of the Hobart City Mission and Kingborough Helping Hands to receive donations of Christmas meals.

The Governor is committed to supporting groups dedicated to helping Tasmanians in need, and throughout the year Government House provides donations of meals and produce to Tasmanian community organisations.

This Christmas, Kitchen staff have created more than 360 pre-prepared meals to donate to Kingborough Helping Hands and Hobart City Mission.

On the menu are roast chicken and roast pork dinners with all the trimmings, as well as fruit crumble made from produce from the Government House orchards and loganberry cheesecake, made with a generous donation from Tongola Cheese.

Kitchen staff have also been busy cooking Christmas lunch for the Hobart Women's Shelter, serving up roast chicken, veggies and fruit cake with custard.

This morning, the Governor was delighted to meet with some of the representatives from the organisations as they collected their donations ready for the festive season.
