International Student Ambassadors

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly welcomes young people to Government House to learn more about Tasmania’s system of government.

In the morning, she was pleased to host a group of international students from around the world currently studying at TasTAFE and the University of Tasmania.

The students are part of Study Tasmania's International Student Ambassador Program and the City of Hobart International Student Ambassador Program and hail from a variety of countries including Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, China, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Chile, Tanzania, Hong Kong and Nepal.

Both programs provide opportunities for international students to develop their skills and get involved in the Tasmanian community.

Yesterday the students had the chance to ask the Governor questions about her role, before enjoying morning tea and a tour of the Government House State Rooms led by Professor Chalmers.
