In the afternoon, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers welcomed members of the public to enjoy Lunch on the Lawns at Government House.

People of all ages came along to the gardens to enjoy a picnic and some great tunes from the Australian Army Band Tasmania on a glorious Hobart autumn afternoon.

The Governor enjoyed meeting visitors making the most of the lovely weather, including groups of students from Bowen Road Primary School and Sacred Heart College.

While today’s event was the final Lunch on the Lawns for this season, visitors are still able to visit Government House on one of our popular tours which run year-round.
