In the morning at Pontville, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers commenced an official visit to the municipality of Southern Midlands which included visits to Shene Estate and Lark Distillery; Chauncy Vale Wildlife Sanctuary; Kempton Primary School; a heritage tour of Oatlands, prior to attending a Civic Reception hosted by the Mayor of Southern Midlands at the Oatlands Ex-Services and Community Club; Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre; and Lowdina Orchard, Campania.
