Order of Australia - Australia Day Honours 2025

Later at Riverside, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, accompanied by Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, invested the Reverend Josephine Pyecroft with her award of the Medal of the Order of Australia which was announced in the 2025 Australia Day Honours List.

In her ceremonial role, the Governor is proud to present Australian Honours and Awards to the outstanding Tasmanians recognised for their service to the community across a wide range of fields.

During her visit to Launceston, Her Excellency invested Reverend Josephine Pyecroft with her Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the Anglican Church of Australia.

Revd Pyecroft was one of the first female ministers in the Anglican Church in Australia and most recently served as Rector of the Parish of Quamby.

She was named in the 2025 Australia Day Honours list but was unable to attend the ceremony at Government House earlier this year.

The Governor was pleased that an investiture ceremony was able to take place at Calvary Riverside Views with Revd Pyecroft’s family in attendance.
