In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted an afternoon tea to welcome newly elected members of the 52nd Parliament of Tasmania.

In her constitutional role, the Governor facilitates the work of the Tasmanian Parliament and the government of the State.

This afternoon, she hosted an afternoon tea to welcome new members of the Parliament, elected at the recent Legislative Council and House of Assembly elections.

Five of the nine new MPs elected in 2025 were able to attend, and the Governor took the opportunity to wish them well in their new roles.

Following afternoon tea in the Conservatory, Professor Chalmers guided the guests on a tour of the Government House State Rooms.
