In the evening, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a reception for members of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Tasmania Branch, and other Loyal Societies to mark Commonwealth Day.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers received Acting British Consul-General, Mrs Sunny Ahmed, and Deputy Consul-General, Mrs Oonagh Lewis,
