Sing For Your Life! Choir

In the evening, the Governor and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a reception for members and supporters of the Sing For Your Life! Choir.

In her community engagement role, the Governor is committed to supporting the arts in Tasmania and enjoys celebrating the achievements of Tasmanian artists and performers.

This evening she was delighted to welcome members of the Sing For Your Life Choir to Government House for a farewell reception before they travel overseas to perform.

Later this month the choir will head to Ireland to take part in the Cork International Choral Festival, as the only Australian choir to be featured in the prestigious event this year.

Wishing choir members well for their trip, the Governor said that it was wonderful a community choir from our island was heading to another island on the other side of the world to share in the joy of singing.

Guests then enjoyed a taste of the beautiful music the choir will showcase in Ireland, with members performing two songs in the Government House Ballroom.
