In the evening, the Governor and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a reception to mark the 60th anniversary of SKÅL International Hobart.

In her community engagement role, the Governor regularly welcomes groups to Government House who are celebrating significant occasions and milestones.

This evening, she hosted a reception for members of Skål International Hobart to mark the tourism organisation’s 60th anniversary.

Speaking to guests, the Governor noted that it had been an eventful six decades for Tasmania’s tourism industry, with the State now welcoming more than 1.3 million visitors each year.

The Governor congratulated the club on its anniversary with its traditional toast, skål, and commended members on helping to make Tasmania a welcoming and memorable place for visitors.
