In the morning at MAC02, Hobart, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers undertook a tour of the 2025 ‘Island Quilts’ exhibition hosted by the Tasmanian Quilting Guild Inc.
In her community engagement role, the Governor supports Tasmanian artists and craftspeople and enjoys visiting exhibitions and displays right across our State.
Her Excellency and Professor Chalmers were pleased to view the Tasmanian Quilting Guild's Island Quilts 2025 exhibition in Hobart.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 quilts created by quilters of all levels of abilities from around the State, ranging in design from traditional to modern and created using a variety of quilting and piecing techniques.
This year’s event incorporates a special display of antique and vintage quilts as well as a student quilt exhibition, and is on display until tomorrow, Saturday 4 October 2025, at MAC02.
