In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a reception to mark the TasPride Summer Festival 2026.

The Governor is committed to making sure everyone feels welcome at Government House and is always pleased to join in celebrations with our Tasmanian community.

This evening she was delighted to host members and supporters of Tasmania’s LGBTQIA+ community for a reception to mark the 2026 TasPride Summer Festival, which is currently underway across the State.

Speaking to guests, the Governor congratulated TasPride and everyone involved on once again delivering a diverse program of events around Tasmania during February.

Guests then enjoyed an uplifting performance from The Kinsey Scales, an inclusive choir for Hobart’s LGBTQIA+ community and their allies.
