In the evening, the Governor and Professor Chalmers hosted a ceremony for the Royal Society of Tasmania to present the 2024 Peter Smith Medal, 2024 Louisa Anne Meredith Medals, and annual Doctoral Awards.

Later, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers received Ms Fiona Hoggart, Director, ASEAN-Australia Centre; Ms Annabel Deibe, Policy and Program Team, ASEAN-Australia Centre; and M
