In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers hosted a luncheon with representatives of Vice-Regal patronages operating within the health sector in Tasmania.
The Governor is honoured to serve as Patron of more than 130 Tasmanian organisations which undertake important work in our community.
Today, she was delighted to host a luncheon at Government House for representatives from several of her Patronages which support Tasmanians on their health journeys and work to achieve better health outcomes across our State.
This included representatives from Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania, the Australian Red Cross - Tasmania, Cancer Council Tasmania, COTA (Council On The Ageing) Tasmania, David Collins Leukaemia Foundation of Tasmania, Diabetes Australia Tasmania, Epilepsy Tasmania, Guide Dogs Tasmania, Palliative Care Tasmania, Royal Flying Doctor Service TAS, and the RHH Research Foundation.
The event was an opportunity for the Governor to not only receive updates from the organisations about their current projects and initiatives, but also to thank them for their efforts to improve the health of all Tasmanians.
