At St David’s Cathedral, Hobart, the Lieutenant Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Alan Blow, accompanied by Mrs Margaret Blow, delivered a tribute at an Ecumenical Memorial Service for the life and work of Her Majesty The Queen.
In the afternoon at the Supreme Court of Tasmania, the Lieutenant Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Alan Blow, received the President and Clerk of the Legislative Council who presented Bills for the Royal Assent.
In the morning, the Lieutenant Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Alan Blow, assumed the administration of the government of the State.
In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, received the Archbishop of Hobart, the Most Reverend Julian Porteous, together with Mr Alex Sidhu, Private Secretary, and Mr Chris Ryan, Executive Director of the Archdiocese of Hobart.
Later at the Executive Building, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, hosted a visit by grades 5/6 students from Lindisfarne Primary School.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, the Premier of Tasmania, the Honourable Jeremy Rockliff, and the Honorary Consul for the United Kingdom in Tasmania, Mr Frank McGregor laid wreaths to mark the demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In the afternoon at the Hobart Town Hall, the Governor of Tasmania, the Honourable Barbara Baker, accompanied by Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, delivered an address to officially open the 2022 Daffodil, Camellia and Floral Art Show on behalf of the Hobart Horticultural Society Inc.
It is with deep regret that I inform the people of Tasmania that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen of Australia, has passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, early on the morning of Friday 9 September 2022 Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Her Majesty’s health had been closely monitored by doctors throughout the day, following an extended period of declining health.
