Installation of The Most Reverend Anthony John Ireland

In her community engagement role, the Governor joins with Tasmanians from all faiths and cultures to mark their significant milestones and important occasions.

Later she joined Tasmania’s Catholic community at St Mary’s Cathedral for the installation of the new Archbishop of Hobart.

Archbishop Tony Ireland was appointed to the role by Pope Leo XIV in June.

He is the twelfth Bishop and eleventh Archbishop of Hobart and succeeds Archbishop Julian Porteous who served in the role since 2013.
