Premier of Tasmania

In the evening at the Premier’s Reception Room, Executive Building, the Governor and Professor Chalmers attended a reception hosted by the Premier of Tasmania, the Honourable Jeremy Rockliff, on the occasion of the forthcoming conclusion of Her Excellency’s term of office as Governor of Tasmania.

As the Governor approaches the end of her term, the Premier, the Honourable Jeremy Rockliff MP, hosted a reception to say farewell.

The event provided an opportunity to recognise the Governor for her service to Tasmania and Professor Chalmers for his support to her over the past five years.

In attendance were Members of Parliament, department representatives and Executive Council staff who have worked with the Governor in her important constitutional role.

Speaking to those gathered, the Governor discussed highlights from her term and said it had been a great honour to serve the Tasmanian community as the State’s 29th Governor.
